This article is for applicants that work/live in a country other than the United States (Mexico/Etc.), whose child attends an ACE Scholarships partner private school and need help or has questions about filling out their FACTS Application with documents from their home country.
When completing the application, There is an option on the "Taxable Income" section where the applicant can select ‘no’ they do not file a US Form 1040. It will then prompt a drop-down to select that their income is below the filing threshold or that they file taxes in another country.
The applicant will then select that they file in another country. They are the enable to answer the remaining questions and submit the application without requiring U.S. tax documentation. However, they can still use the "upload" feature to submit tax documents from the prior year from their home country.
Regarding the Social Security question:
FACTS instructs applicants without a U.S. Social Security Number to just input any numbers in the format of ###-##-####. (FACTS recommends using a number you will remember like a phone # or similar)
Please retain these numbers as you will need them for future applications.
